Airbags can protect you from
being buried in an avalanche
A wonderful day of
alpine adventure can quickly and suddenly become a nightmare in
an avalanche. If an avalanche is triggered, the main goal is to
avoid being buried by the snow masses and/or reduce the depth of
burial. When a person activates the airbag backpack, two airbags
inflate with a total volume of 170 liters (6.0 cu ft), thereby
increasing the skier's buoyancy during the avalanche and helping
to prevent being buried. This drastically increases the chances
of survival.

Avalanche Airbag Backpacks
Avalanche backpacks are
specialized high-quality products: professionally designed, with
high-quality materials and manufacturing that conforms to TÜV
standards. All backpacks have a uniform carrying system
designed for the high demands of an avalanche. The average tear
resistance is four times greater than those of traditional
backpacks. The models are optimized for different applications
through different pack volumes as the pack is not only a safety
device - it acts as a true storage backpack as well.
With the Escape
and the Vario line, the complete system can be removed as
needed - i.e., when the backpack is worn out - and inserted into
a new backpack.
The cartridges are
refillable. They can be refilled at no cost if deployed in an

Information
for left-hander: Upon
request, all models can be adapted to left-handed use! The
system with the activation unit and all backpack models
conform to the requirements of the PSA guideline (Personal
Safety Equipment), are certified by the TÜV and thus meet all
the criteria for a CE certification.
