Deep snow is a dream – avalanche a nightmare. The avalanche transceivers from Ortovox take you quickly and precisely to the right spot. From sensor-controlled and digital to analogue, with continuous signal processing, even for multiple victims.
S1 TRANSCEIVER - The Latest Generation
As the world’s first sensor-controlled avalanche scanner, the Ortovox S1 enables rescue situations to be solved in the shortest possible time. Because time is the all-important factor. In case of an accident, there are only minutes to ensure that victims survive. The whole situation in the avalanche area can be quickly assessed at a glance on the large display. In case of multiple victims, the revolutionary sensor control can show the location of up to four people simultaneously in a clearly visible manner. The sensor acts as an aerial and the earth’s magnetic field as a reference in order to be able to depict the location of the victims exactly.
The S1 features an illuminated display, an electronic compass, a temperature display and even a slope-measuring device, which when determining the slope gradient, one of the most important criteria for assessing avalanche risk, provides an invaluable service. Naturally the S1 comes in a functional holster and offers numerous additional options for professionals: for example an extensive check function for the group test before a skiing expedition.

The guidance on the refined search takes you straight to the nearest victim, whilst the display is updated in real time thanks to continuous signal processing. Thus there is no chance of wasting time during the search between two different signals. Once the first victim has been located, this signal can be deleted so that the search can immediately be continued.
When it comes to pinpoint location, the most time-consuming part of the whole search, a completely new type of display once again helps to save valuable time: decreasing circles retain the principle of intuitive operation. The S1 means that rescuing multiple victims is no longer just a job for the professionals – a huge plus in avalanche protection for anyone exploring the mountains in winter.

F1 FOCUS TRANSCEIVER
The f1 focus is the most widely sold avalanche transceiver worldwide and is a long-standing favorite with professionals.
The analogue technique of the f1 focus is completed by a visual search indicator. If you put on the f1 with its lightweight one belt system, the device is automatically switched on. There is only one rotary switch for switch-over from transmit to receive mode. Under ideal conditions the f1 can achieve a range of about 80 m. Thus the search path can be shortened and you get faster to the buried person. The number of beeps indicate at the same time if you have to face a multiple burial situation. The visual search indicator shaped in an LED arrow doesn't only show the right way, but also when you have to turn the volume control switch for adjusting the receiver sensibility.
  Technical Data
Function: analogue
Frequency: 457 kHz
Range: 80 m
Battery: 2 x AA LR6 1,5 V
Transmitting: 300 h
Receiving: 40 h
Weight: 225 g
Size: 130 x 80 x 25 mm
Warranty: 5
Item no.: 01132
In case of several buried persons the volume control switch serves to isolate the signals and to ensure an easy and safe search. If you have several searchers, an earphone is highly recommended. The earphone plug-in is located at the waterproof, shock-resistant and ergonomic casing. In case of a second avalanche you can use the express emergency switch-over from receive to transmit mode. The f1 uses 2 easily available AA batteries.
The waterproof, shock-resistant and ergonomic casing has an earphone connection socket. The f1 surpasses the demands of the European standard 300 718 and is also available as a set with earphone and bag. ORTOVOX recommends regular training to get familiar with the avalanche transceiver. We also strongly recommend that a transceiver must always be accompanied by a shovel and a probe on your tours.
